The farm of Jose Antonio Reyes Iznaga was located about 30 miles away from Sancti-Spiritus, was named Cacahual. Cacahual was a big cattle farm of about 4150 acres, and they raised both milk cows and cattle for beef. The milk cows were kept at Cacahual, while the cattle being raised for beef were only kept there while they were young. As the calves then got a little older, they were moved to another farm the family owned close to the water named Arenal, approximately 50 miles or so away. The young cows were brought there to be fattened up before slaughtering them for their beef. The breed of cattle used at Cacahual was a unique mix of Holstein and Cebu. Cebu is the Spanish name for the Brahma cow which is known to be strong. The reason they needed a crossbreed mix was because Cacahual was on a mountain side, and Brahmas had no difficulty moving on that kind of terrain, but they were not milk producers. The black and white Holsteins, on the other hand, were basically only good on flat ground, but were excellent milk producers. So they created a crossbreed mix of 75% Holstein and 25% Brahma which essentially meant they had cattle good for milk production, and had no difficulty on the mountain. Fidel Castro later tried to take credit for discovering this crossbreed, but he actually just took the idea from Jose Antonio Reyes. Most of the cattle they used for the farm¿s beef production was actually bought as young calves from other farms, and then later taken to Arenal for slaughter. They didn¿t use a lot of the Brahma-Holstein mix cows for meat production.

IX DUKE OF MANCHESTER, XIII BARON OF KIMBELTON, VICEROY OF MANDEVILLE
William Angus was the son of George Montagu, 8th Duke of Manchester, and wife María Consuelo Iznaga Clemens . He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge . He succeeded his father in the Dukedom in 1892 at the age of 15 and later took his seat on the Liberal party benches in the House of Lords . When the Liberals came to power in December 1905 under Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman , William was appointed Captain of the Yeomen of the Guard , Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Lords . He retained this post until April 1907, but never held ministerial office again. Apart from his political career he also achieved the rank of Captain in the British Army and Royal Marines in the Lancashire Fusiliers. William is perhaps most well-known in America from the leading case of Hamilton v. Drogo, 150 N.E. 496 (N.Y. 1926), which concerned the establishment of a spendthrift trust for the benefit of the young Duke.
The Ninth Duke was a notorious spendthrift, and as a result of the excessive spending of both him and the prior two Dukes, the family's fortune was completely exhausted, culminating in the sale of the family's lands during the tenure of the Tenth Duke. The Ninth Duke spent much of his life abroad, evading creditors, seeking out wealthy consorts, and attempting to extract money from wealthy acquaintances. He was sentenced to prison for fraud.
